At Park + Garden, an apartment property in Hoboken, N.J., the need for 373 spaces was condensed from 10 underground floors into just four, not only cutting costs but also allowing for more rental units. 64 years ago, the world's first driverless parking garage opened in DC. In the 1920s, a Ferris wheel-like APS called a paternoster system became popular as it could park eight cars in the Automated Parking System ground space normally used for parking two cars. Mechanically simple with a small footprint, the paternoster was easy to use in many places, including inside buildings. At the same time, Kent Automatic Garages was installing APS with capacities exceeding 1,000 cars. The SP system is designed for locations that require a large number of parking spots and receive a high volume of traffic. Different sized bays accommodate larger vehicles, such sedans and SUVs, to improve space utilization. When the owner wants to leave, the system locates the vehicle and returns it to a ground level exit terminal. A fully automated parking system decreases the area of parking spaces because there’s no need to open car doors due to the driver and passengers have already exited the vehicle before it is parked. It removes the stress and hassle of parking your own vehicle in tight spaces, not to mention having to remember where you parked your car. Plenty of parking also encourages more vehicle ownership which can be hazardous to the environment and cause more traffic congestion. Smart parking is now used in shopping centers, airports, colleges, malls and government agencies. Through Westfalia’s flexible and modular automated parking technologies, property owners can provide greater parking capacity without the need for additional land space. When someone wants to retrieve a car, he or she uses a key fob or smart phone to alert the system, which delivers the vehicle within a few minutes. At that point, the car is ready to go when the driver arrives at the entrance where he dropped it off. Typically, the requested vehicle arrives within five minutes or less after being summoned. The TP system is a parking solution for small surface areas with high headroom. Based on a modular concept that can be built above or below ground, the TP easily adapts to meet the specific requirements of a prospective parking lot and can accommodate up to 100 parking spots per system. Utron’s PUZZLE is a semi-automated system that allows independent access to every space. This is a stacking system in which cares are stored in both vertical and horizontal arrays, one atop the other. The system consists of a self-supporting structural framework for self or attendant parking and retrieval. The Lux, a 12-story apartment building in Madison, Wisc., is equipped with a 120-space rack-and-rail system on two subterranean levels. And at the Muse, a 51-story ocean front condo in Sunny Isle, Fla., a similar 208-space system rises 26 levels, making it the tallest of its kind in the world. Drivers simply pull into one of several “Portals” on the main floor of the system, exit their cars, and the system does the rest. Established in 1945, Amano corporation is a Japan-based company engaged in real-time information systems, parking systems, environmental systems and cleaning systems. An automated parking system is a mechanical system designed to minimize the area and/or volume required for parking cars. Like a multi-story parking garage, an APS provides parking for cars on multiple levels stacked vertically to maximize the number of parking spaces while minimizing land usage. The APS, however, utilizes a mechanical system to transport cars to and from parking spaces in order to eliminate much of the space wasted in a multi-story parking garage. Multi-sensor information ensemble can improve recognition performance. Ultrasonic sensors, which are installed on the right-hand side of the vehicle, are used for edge detection. The installed ultrasonic model is LGCB GM-D1/D2-V15, and the detection range is 70−1000 mm. At a new, eight-unit condo at 325 Henry Street, in Brooklyn’s Cobble Hill, the offer of a free automated parking space with condo purchase didn’t drive up prices. The OMER automated parking system offers an innovative solution that can make the most of extremely limited spaces by converting any unused, or difficult-to-use space into a parking space. We can transform areas such as courtyards, roof tops, basement floors, obsolete garages, cellars, private homes or buildings, etc., into multi-use parking spaces for multiple vehicle storage solutions. OMER’s automated parking system are made of an independent, self-supporting fixed modular structure, and an electro-hydraulically operated mobile structure.
